Fabienne is an exceptionally talented young violinist with extraordinary potential in her development as a violinist.” -Byggnads Culture Scholarship Committee
For Fabienne Glader, the violin has been part of life for as long as she can remember. She began playing at the age of four, and one year later started her studies with Russian violinist and artistic director Nina Balabina at Lilla Akademien in Stockholm. By the age of eight, she was already performing for members of the Swedish Royal Family and at events connected with the World Childhood Foundation.
Since then, Fabienne’s musical journey has continued to grow both in Sweden and internationally. Fabienne has studied with and received guidance from musicians including Ulla Magnusson, Mark Power, Christian Svarfvar, Philippe Graffin, Robin Wilson, Chen Zhao and Dmitry Sitkovetsky. She became the first Swedish student to attend The Purcell School for Young Musicians for Head of Strings violinist Charles Sewart in London, where she spent a year immersed in an international community of young musicians.
Her playing has been recognised through a number of awards and scholarships. She was awarded First Prize in the Young Artist category at the Cambridge Music Competition, together with the Special Prize for Great Interpretation, and has received the Welin Scholarship for a five year loan to one of Per Westerlunds violins, the Baroness Maddock Scholarship, as the youngest ever scholar, from the Anglo-Swedish Society and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s Youth Scholarship 2026.
Her recent performances have taken her to venues and stages including Kings Place in London, Stockholm City Hall, the Royal Palace in Stockholm, 3Arena, the Swedish Embassy in Rome, Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, Malta Spring Festival as well as the Shkolnikova Academy 2026. She has performed as a soloist with chamber ensembles and orchestras, including Vivaldi’sWinter and Brandenburg Concerto No. 4.
What makes Fabienne’s musical path distinctive is precisely this curiosity. She is deeply rooted in the classical tradition, while at the same time looking outward towards new genres, new audiences and new ways of creating music. Her ambition is not simply to become a better violinist, but to build a life around music in many different forms: as a performer, creator and collaborator.
At 19, Fabienne is finalizing her last year at Nordiska Musikgymnasiet in Stockholm studying for Agata Kawa Cajler and Per Enoksson. She is still at the beginning of her professional journey, but she is already building a musical identity that reaches well beyond the boundaries of a traditional classical violinist.
